About the job

The Accountant / Senior Accountant will be primarily responsible for the financial close process, completing several aspects of the close as well as working through complex technical accounting transactions. This person will be a key member of the Finance team, working with the Controller and GL Accountant to provide parts of external financial reporting, support with auditor queries, risk management and internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Controller with the monthly financial close process by preparing and reviewing journal entries, analyses, and reconciliations to ensure accurate financials and timely closing of the books.

  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and account reconciliations, including first level review of input prepared by GL Accountant.

  • Prepare the monthly internal control sheet for activities performed for review.

  • Work with the Controller to ensure the company has an adequate system of accounting records, policies, and controls.

  • Assist with the design, implementation and execution of policies and procedures necessary to comply with current and future financial reporting requirements.

  • Evaluate business transactions for proper accounting, prepare accounting memos to support recognition and prepare required audit documentation.

  • Support with writing the financial analysis sections of annual or half year reports.

  • Be a partner to your direct Finance team, FP&A and external departments, providing relevant and reliable information and input when requested.

  • Be a main point of contact with our external and internal auditors throughout the course of the respective audit cycles, including working diligently with the Controller to ensure financial processes are designed, operating, and documented appropriately and in accordance with financial regulations.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
    Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or other relevant financial credentials are strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial reporting. Solid understanding of IFRS and financial statement preparation is essential.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and overall Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience with ERP systems and financial planning tools is required.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data.

  • Ability to think both strategically (big picture) and tactically (detail-oriented).

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage deadlines, and drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; proven track record of building effective partnerships across departments.

  • Comfortable working in a small, agile team, with a hands-on mindset and a willingness to collaborate cross-functionally with Operations and other teams.

  • Highly adaptable, resourceful, and eager to roll up your sleeves to contribute to team goals.

  • Able to multi-task effectively and thrive in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
